The water is rising to your neck: why to get on board with AI now
I'm sharing this read for its data and its legitimate urgency — but I diverge on one thing: cognitive work doesn't disappear, it rises toward the strategic. AI frees you from the mechanical so you can decide the direction.
I'm sharing this read because it's backed by real data and a legitimate sense of urgency — not to spread fear, but because the growth curve is real. That said, my view diverges on one point: I don't believe cognitive work will disappear, I believe it gets freed up toward the strategic. AI handles the mechanical; the time it frees is for deciding direction and shaping new strategy, not for running repetitive tasks. If you don't know the hammer exists, you keep driving nails with a rock. Your mind doesn't know a better way exists, and that biases everything you're capable of doing. Knowing that a tool exists — and what it can actually do — expands the map of what you can imagine for your business. Those who get on board now decide. Those who wait, react.
